Potato 'Duke of York' is a well-known heritage variety, made famous for their delicious taste and excellent culinary ability.

The potatoes produced are oval-shaped and have yellow flesh. Once boiled the potatoes are dry and mealy making them ideal for boiling straight from the plot.

These first early potatoes are ordinarily ready for harvesting between 13 to 15 weeks depending on conditions.

Seed Potatoes

All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
