A UK favourite on the vegetable plot, ‘Arran Pilot’ has a firm, waxy texture and a lovely flavour that is best appreciated when cooked straight from the garden. These first early potatoes, ready to come out from the ground as early as May, will make a lovely ingredient to a freshly grown potato salad. ‘Arran Pilot’ are also resistant to slug attack and scabbing.

Just 5 tubers can produce at least 2-3kg of potatoes. These packs are great value if you only want to grow a few potatoes, or only have a small space. Ideal packs to try several varieties without filling your whole plot.

Seed Potatoes

All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
