Savour the taste of homegrown first and second early potatoes from as early as May with ‘Lady Christl’. This variety lends itself to growing in a number of ways, from trenches on your allotment, in grow sacks or other containers. ‘Lady Christl’ boasts a creamy flesh and excellent flavour, making it perfect for boiling for salad potatoes or chipping for a heartier meal. This variety has a great resistance to eelworms, splitting, scab and bruising which means even if planted in areas exposed to rain, shade or other elements that can stress plants, you can expect bountiful harvests.

All our seed potatoes are graded to a size 35mm x 35mm to 55mm x 55mm. This means that the smallest seed potatoes in the sample will not fall through an 35mm square. This does mean there will be various sizes within the pack. More modern varieties are more equal in size but as we want to offer the more unusual and Heritage varieties, these are more variable but we will always supply the weight stated. Any harvest will depend on individual growing conditions but generally smaller potatoes will produce smaller crops and larger potatoes will produce larger crops. But for example 1kg of seed potatoes will produce the same overall harvest whether the seed potatoes are small or large.
